SACRAMENTO, CALIF (CDCAN) [Updated 07/26/2010 11:45 AM (Pacific Time)] – Ron Brown, [photo left] a widely respected and loved Sacramento area disability and civil rights advocate, passed away Friday (July 23) at his Sacramento home. His unexpected death stunned and deeply saddened friends and other advocates in the Sacramento area as news spread.
His passing came ironically two days before the 20th anniversary of the enactment of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and just three days after Governor Schwarzenegger signed into law SB 1256 that will honor every January 23rd, the life and work of disability rights leader Ed Roberts.
