CDCAN Advocacy Without Borders :: One Community

The 7th District includes a predominantly suburban portion of the East Bay. It is located entirely in and covers most of Contra Costa County. This includes all of the central and eastern portions of the county (everything east of Alameda County), and the western portion of the county on San Pablo Bay.

Senator Mark Wyland was elected to the California State Senate in November, 2006. He represents the 38th Senatorial District, which includes the South Orange County cities of San Clemente and San Juan Capistrano and the North San Diego County cities of Bonsall, Camp Pendleton, Carlsbad, Encinitas, Escondido, Fairbanks Ranch, Hidden Meadows, Lake San Marcos, Oceanside, Rancho Santa Fe, San Marcos, Solana Beach and Vista.

Denise Moreno Ducheny has served in the California State Senate since November 5, 2002, representing the 40th District which includes portions of San Diego and Riverside Counties and all of Imperial County. Senator Ducheny chairs the Senate Budget and Fiscal Review Committee, the Joint Legislative Budget Committee, the Select Committees on California-Mexico Cooperation and the Colorado River. She is a member of the Senate Public Employment and Retirement Committee and the Labor and Industrial Relations Committee. She is also Vice Chair of the Border Legislative Conference, a binational forum of state legislators from the 10 U.S.-Mexico Border states sponsored by the Council of State Governments.

Dennis Hollingsworth is the Senator for the 36th District of California, which includes portions of San Diego and Riverside Counties. He was elected to the post of Senate Republican Leader in February 2009.

The 3rd District spans the Golden Gate Bridge, connecting high income areas of the North Bay with the eastern portions of the City and County of San Francisco.

The 8th district covers almost half of San Francisco and all but southeastern San Mateo County. Communities in the San Mateo portion of the district include Belmont, Brisbane, Broadmoor, Burlingame, Colma, Daly City, El Granada, Foster City, Half Moon Bay, Highlands-Baywood Park, Hillsborough, Millbrae, Montara, Moss Beach, Pacifica, Portola Valley, San Bruno, San Mateo, South San Francisco, and Woodside.
