A policy maker for over 20 years, Senator Elaine Kontominas Alquist (D-Santa Clara) is completing her first Senate term representing almost a million people living in the cities of San Jose, Sunnyvale, Santa Clara, Mountain View, and Gilroy.

Roy Ashburn represents the 18th Senate District, the largest in California, encompassing Kern, Tulare, Inyo, and San Bernardino Counties.

In November of 2006, Senator Dave Cogdill, of Modesto, was elected as the Representative of the 14th District to the California State Senate, garnering 67% of the vote. The 14th Senate District is comprised of all or a portion of the following counties: Fresno, Madera, Mariposa, San Joaquin, Stanislaus and Tuolumne.

The 7th District includes a predominantly suburban portion of the East Bay. It is located entirely in and covers most of Contra Costa County. This includes all of the central and eastern portions of the county (everything east of Alameda County), and the western portion of the county on San Pablo Bay.

Senator Tom Harman represents the people of the 35th Senate District which includes the cities of Seal Beach, Huntington Beach, Fountain Valley, Costa Mesa, Newport Beach, Irvine, Cypress, La Palma, Los Alamitos, Laguna Beach, Dana Point and portions of Buena Park, Garden Grove, Santa Ana and Westminster.

Elected to represent the 29th Senate District in 2008, a region that includes portions of Los Angeles, Orange and San Bernardino Counties. Prior to serving in the Senate, Bob Huff served the 60 th Assembly district from 2004-2008.

The 3rd District spans the Golden Gate Bridge, connecting high income areas of the North Bay with the eastern portions of the City and County of San Francisco.

Carol Liu is the State Senator from the 21st District which includes Pasadena, Glendale, Burbank, a portion of the city of Los Angeles, and other surrounding cities and communities

Senator Alan Lowenthal is strongly committed to ensure that the interests of the 27th Senate District are represented in Sacramento, including education, public safety, economic development and environmental protection.

Elected in 2006, Senator Gloria Negrete McLeod is proud to represent the 32nd District in the California State Senate. The 32nd District stretches over two counties encompassing the cities of Colton, Fontana, Montclair, Ontario, Rialto and San Bernardino including the unincorporated communities of Bloomington and Muscoy in San Bernardino County; and portions of Chino and the entire City of Pomona in Los Angeles County.

On December 4th, 2006 Alex Padilla was sworn in as a member of the California State Senate representing the 20th District. For his first two years, Padilla served on the powerful Senate Rules Committee which confirms gubernatorial appointments and refers all bills in the Senate. In December 2008, Senator Padilla was named Chair of the Senate Energy, Utilities and Communications Committee. The committee hears all bills relating to utilities, energy companies, alternative energy development and conservation, and communications development and technology.

Joe Simitian was elected to the California State Senate in November 2004 to represent the 11th State Senate District, which includes portions of San Mateo, Santa Clara and Santa Cruz counties. His public service over the years includes stints as a State Assemblymember, member of the Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors, Mayor of Palo Alto and President of the Palo Alto School Board. He has also served as an election observer/supervisor in El Salvador and Bosnia, and participated in refugee relief and resettlement efforts in Albania and Kosovo.

Senator Roderick D. Wright was elected to the California State Senate in 2008, representing the 25th District which covers the communities of Alondra Park, Athens, Compton, Gardena, Florence-Graham, Hawthorne, Inglewood, Ladera Heights, Lawndale, Long Beach, Los Angeles, Palos Verdes Peninsula, San Pedro, Watts, Westchester, Westmont, and Willowbrook.
