Connecting and receiving CDCAN disability rights news reports is easier than one might think! The recommended option is to subscribe to CDCAN's mailing list to receive its updates directly to your e-mail inbox. However, that is not the only option available to receive CDCAN news.
If you are an existing reader of CDCAN and have accounts on social networking sites such as FaceBook, Twitter, Reddit, Digg, and many others, you can help recommend CDCAN's content to other web users. This will help ensure many more have access to its content, credibility and accuracy in reporting. Near the top of each page a link for "Share" exists, as well as the four most common methods (printing, sending an email, tweeting (twitter) and FaceBook). Clicking the the twitter icon ("t") or the FaceBook icon ("f") allow you to easily share the report with others across the web using such sites. Others (Reddit, Digg, etc.) require clicking the "Share" button to find the applicable site.
Another option is the use of "RSS" (Really Simple Syndication) to find updates to websites through your browser or favorite content aggregator. While the technology has been around for some time, just recently CDCAN has been able to leverage its use to ensure readers have immediate access to its latest content. Many web browsing programs integrate RSS into the existing "bookmarks" or "favorites" systems to provide an auto-updating list of recent content. Different web browsing programs utilize RSS in different ways, but the three most prevalent browsers (Internet Explorer, Safari and Firefox) make an RSS feed act like a "folder" of bookmarks whose contents change automatically to reflect the latest content.
RSS can allow users interested in a particular website to check for new content without having to visit the website. This saves time and resources in keeping up to date with your favorite websites.
How do I use RSS?
If you are familiar with "bookmarks" or "favorites" then using RSS should be a breeze. If you wish to receive all new content, you may subscribe to our all articles feed. In many web browsing programs after clicking the "all articles" link you will be asked to "Subscribe to this feed" or "Subscribe Now" then select a location for your new bookmark/favorite. After selecting a location and completing the creation process, simply highlighting the bookmark or favorite will display the newest content published by CDCAN. This will allow you to keep up with CDCAN's reports without having to visit its website!
Do I have to receive all articles or do you have topics I can subscribe to?
We have topics and programs which can be used to limit the amount of new information in your RSS feed. We categorize our articles by "topic" and by program. If you are only interested in receiving information about a specific program, you may wish to look below for a list of feeds provided by CDCAN.
I would like to publish CDCAN's content on my website, is that possible?
Absolutely. Newer content management systems such as "Drupal", "Joomla!" and "WordPress" also integrate RSS feed syndication so it can be as easy as typing in a particular feed address to have your website display CDCAN's information to your readers. Some content management systems will require additional "modules" or "plugins" to make RSS work. Continue to check this page for additional information on how to configure RSS within your particular content management system.
I don't use a content system, can I still syndicate CDCAN's information?
Yes! It will require additional software which must be placed and configured to work within your website. We will provide more information on how to complete this setup later. Check this page later for information.
